The United Arab Emirates, a past master in this field, has once again demonstrated this with a 75-story double tower designed with the help of numerous Saint-Gobain solutions.
Facing the Dubai coast, the Address Residences Beach Resort is transforming the urban landscape of Jumeirah Beach. Designed by Killa Design Architects, it is composed of two 75-story adjoining towers and included a number of Saint-Gobain solutions.
The Group participated in this extraordinary project with Gyproc, Weber and Vetrotech products. The resort includes 187 hotel rooms, 443 apartments with room service, five restaurants, an 800-square-meter spa, a fitness center with coaches, and three swimming pools, one of which is 94 meters long.
More than 120,000 square meters of Saint-Gobain Gyproc’s GypWall ROBUST wall system were installed, with combinations of solutions selected according to the specific needs of the spaces, such as air quality (Activ’Air) or resistance to humidity and mold (M2TECH). In the bedrooms, the Gyproc QUIET partition system was chosen for its excellent acoustic properties. Gyproc MF Ceiling (used with Glasroc X panels, designed for exterior spaces) and Gyproc ShaftWall (for shafts and ducts) were also installed.
Saint-Gobain Weber’s mortars and waterproofing solutions were chosen for terraces, tubs and swimming pools, covering more than 100,000 square meters. The application of our solutions was carried out by a Saint-Gobain Weber certified partner, under the supervision and support of the local commercial and technical teams.
Finally, Saint-Gobain Vetrotech supplied Contraflam 60 fire resistant safety glass to meet the fire protection requirements of the project, which is in line with UAE Life Safety Code. They also fulfilled the specific requirement of passing the difficult hose stream tests as per US standards. Other Saint-Gobain Vetrotech solutions were also installed, including fire doors, curtain walls and partitions. This entire range of solutions was selected for their unique performance.
